Dear Chimacum Alumni and Key Communicators,
Please help us spread the word and save the date for a special Chimacum community celebration: the dedication of the Montgomery Auditorium on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Chimacum Jr./Sr. High School. This event will honor the legacy of Duane L. Montgomery, longtime Chimacum band teacher, founder of the Chimacum Marching Band, writer of the Chimacum Alma Mater, and a beloved figure in Chimacum’s music and school history.
The evening will include student musical performances from 2nd through 12th grade, including elementary music selections, the 4th–6th grade drumline, the Jr./Sr. High Band, small groups, and a big finale. Alumni, former band members, music lovers, friends of the Montgomery family, and the entire community are warmly invited to attend.
Jefferson County Commissioners will also consider a proclamation declaring June 4, 2026, as Duane L. Montgomery Day in Jefferson County at their regular meeting on Monday, June 1, with proclamations usually read at 9:30 a.m.
Please share this invitation widely with alumni, classmates, former band members, family, and friends. We hope to see many generations of Chimacum students and supporters gathered together to celebrate the music, the memories, and the Montgomery family legacy in the Valley Near the Water!
